Taste of the Sassafras * Friday September 14, 2012 will be held from 5-9 pm under the waterfront tent at the Kitty Knight House in Georgetown, MD.

This event is hosted by The Sassafras River Business Council and will benefit local charities.

The Taste of the Sassafras will showcase the best our local restaurants, caterers, and farms have to offer. Some featured vendors will be Sisters By Chance Catering, Twinney’s Place, Kitty Knight House, Crow Farm, Maryland’s Herb Basket, Priapi Gardens, Colchester Farm with others still to come.

Featured Entertainment
Our featured entertainment this year at the Taste of the Sassafras will be the Kirsten Thien Band heralding from New York City, but with local ties to Kent County, MD.

Kirsten Thien’s soulful delivery of her insightful and sensual songs has earned her regular radio chart positions along with international press and radio airplay. Comparisons abound, from Keb’ Mo’ to Sheryl Crow. But Thien has carved out her own unique Contemporary Blues sound that travels the highway between Chicago in 1955, Memphis in 1969, and present-day New York City (Thien’s home in the space-time continuum).

Thien’s stellar touring band has been together for five years and promise a romping, stomping good time!
