Learn about Sumner Hall with the CBG

Our speakers will be Bob Ingersoll, President of the Board of Directors of Sumner Hall and Nina Johnson, Executive Director of Sumner Hall.

Here is a brief bio for each of our speakers:

Mr. Ingersoll’s family has called Kent County home for generations. He has been involved with saving and restoring Sumner Hall from the beginning of the initiative. During the reconstruction years, he served as the overall project supervisor and currently building manages maintenance program. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he is also a farmer, boat builder and fine furniture maker. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Chester River Association and active with the Sultana Education Foundation.

Educator, Mental Health and Human Services Professional, Ms. Johnson previously held positions in the Kent County Schools, Washington College, and the Kent County Health Department. She also pastors two churches and has been involved in the restoration of Sumner Hall for 13 years. She is a native of Kent County and her great-grandfather was one of the founders of G.A.R. Post #25, Inc. (Sumner Hall). After serving on the Board of Directors for 18 months, she resigned to take the half-time position as Executive Director of Sumner Hall.
