Harry White Bateau to be at FallFest

Rock Hall Marine Restoration & Heritage Center
October 2017

Rock Hall Marine Restoration and Heritage Center (RHMRHC) will display its Harry White Bateau at the 20th Annual FallFest on October 14th 2017from 10AM to 4PM. This Harry White Bateau is a fundraiser for Rock Hall Marine Restoration and Heritage Center with raffle tickets for sale at $20.

Harry White is a Rock Hall boat builder who has constructed many wood and fiberglass Bateaus and workboats for commercial and pleasure use. Harry believes that the last Bateau he built was over forty years ago. Harry was on hand to start the construction, layout and set.

The Bateau is 20 feet in length and constructed out of yellow pine with stainless steel fasteners. It will be strip planked from the sideboards up. Construction features include a 2″ concave on her bottom so that she will sit in the water properly, a 2″ tuck in her stern making her safe for towing and capable of carrying and being operated by an outboard.

Harry, volunteers and board member of RHRMHC began construction of this vessel in May of 2017. All proceeds for this project will be used for operations, construction and educational projects.

We would like to thank everyone that helped with this project from construction, to donations.
