On Saturday, November 18, 2017 Compass Regional Hospice will host Survivor Day at the Hope & Healing Center located at 255 Comet Drive in Centreville from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is the one day a year when people affected by suicide loss gather in their local communities to find comfort and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope. Survivors Day is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP.)

This year’s gathering will include a screening of The Journey: A Story of Healing and Hope, a compelling AFSP-produced documentary that traces the grief and healing journey that follows a suicide loss through loss survivors. Followed by presentations lead by Compass Regional Hospice grief counselors Rhonda Knotts, MCC, and Wayne Larrimore, M.Ed, small group discussions and a candlelight remembrance ceremony. A light lunch will be provided.

Compass Regional Hospice invites anyone in the community affected by suicide loss to join us. For many loss survivors, attending a Survivor Day event is an opportunity to discover that they are not alone in their experience of losing someone they know and love to suicide. There is no cost.

For more information and to RSVP for Survivor Day, contact Compass Regional Hospice grief counselors Rhonda Knotts, 443-262-4109, rknotts@compassregionalhospice.org or Wayne Larrimore, 443-262-4100, wlarrimore@compassregionalhospice.org.
