Jenni Clune – Shorewoman of the Week

Senior swimmer Jenni Clune (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) is this week’s Shorewoman of the Week. Clune was a part of four first-place finishes for the Shorewomen in their 134-128 win over Franklin & Marshall Saturday – their first over the Diplomats in 10 years.

Clune won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.39, the 200 breaststroke in 2:34.91, and the 100 individual medley in 1:03.39. She also swam the anchor leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay, which finished in 1:43.09 to give the Shorewomen the meet victory in the final event.

Yesterday, Clune was named the Centennial Conference Swimmer of the Week.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Washington College senior Jenni Clune (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) has been named the Centennial Conference Swimmer of the Week for women’s swimming for the week ending October 29th. Clune played a role in four first-place finishes for the Shorewomen in their 134-128 win over Franklin & Marshall Saturday, the Shorewomen’s first win over the Diplomats in 10 years.

Clune won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.39, the 200 breaststroke in 2:34.91, and the 100 individual medley in 1:03.39. She also swam the anchor leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay, which finished in 1:43.09 to give the Shorewomen the meet victory in the final event.

This is the second Centennial Conference Swimmer of the Week honor of Clune’s career. She was previously named Swimmer of the Week on December 5th of last year.

Brett Edwards – Shoreman of the Week

Freshman swimmer Brett Edwards (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week. Edwards won two individual events in the Shoremen’s 135-127 win over Franklin & Marshall Saturday.

Edwards won the 200 breaststroke in 2:14.23 to become the Shoremen’s ninth-fastest swimmer ever in that event. He won the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.60 to become the team’s 10th-fastest swimmer ever in that event.
