NARRATIVE:
On Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at approximately 8:53 AM, troopers assigned to the Maryland State Police- Centreville Barrack responded to Maryland Route 213 at Fey Road, Kingstown, Queen Anne’s County in reference to a motor vehicle collision involving a GMC Pick-Up and an overturned (3) axle farm truck hauling fertilizer (50,000 lbs.) Preliminary investigation, according to witnesses and scene evidence revealed the GMC was traveling southbound on Rt.213, when for unknown reason(s) the vehicle traveled across the solid yellow line into the northbound lane and exited the roadway. Subsequently, the GMC re-entered the northbound lane and collided with the passenger side rear of the farm truck causing it to overturn. This caused the farm truck to lose its entire load of fertilizer and fuel (Haz-Mat) across all lanes of travel. Due to the large amount of debris clean up, State Highway Administration (SHA) responded to close the roadway and re-direct traffic for approximately (11) hours. Driver-Stammer was flown by MSP Trooper 1 to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma for precautionary, non-life threatening injuries. Driver-Harris was not injured in the collision. The investigation into the cause of the collision is on-going. All events occurred in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland
