Andrew Feeley – Shoreman of the Week

Freshman swimmer Andrew Feeley (Baltimore, Md./Towson) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week. Feeley won the 200 backstroke in a school-record and meet-record time at the Yellow Jacket Invitational over the weekend.

Feeley’s winning and record time in the 200 backstroke was 1:53.04. He also placed eighth in the 100 backstroke in 54.04 to become the Shoremen’s sixth-fastest swimmer ever in that event and 12th in the 200 individual medley in 2:02.61 and swam on the Shoremen’s fifth-place 200 and 400 medley relay teams.

Feeley’s efforts helped the Shoremen to a second-place finish at the meet.

Julia Portmann – Shorewoman of the Week

Junior swimmer Julia Portmann (Palatine, Ill./William Fremd) is this week’s Shorewoman of the Week. Portmann won two individual events and swam on a winning relay at the Yellow Jacket Invitational over the weekend.

Portmann won the 500 freestyle in 5:10.00 and the 1650 freestyle in 17:51.37. She was also second in the 200 freestyle in 1:58.24. In relays, she swam the second leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay team, which finished in 3:37.27 and the anchor leg of the second-place 800 freestyle relay, which finished in 8:04.16.

Portmann’s efforts helped the Shorewomen to a fourth-place finish at the meet.
