Kent County Fifth Graders Learn About Art and Science at Hegland Glass

On March 11 and March 18, 2017 Kent County Public Schools’ art teacher, Aimee Boumiea and three elementary students visited David and Patti Hegland in their glassmaking studio in downtown Chestertown. Revolutionary America Through German Eyes

For the 30,000-some German soldiers who fought for the British during the American Revolution, the colonists and their country were a complete unknown. Friederike Baer, an associate professor of history at Pennsylvania State University, will discuss their unique view of the fledgling country on March 29, 2017 in “Hurray to America!: The German Auxiliary Troops in the War for American Independence.” Continue reading
